Qualified Carriers

Every carrier we use is carefully reviewed and must pass our qualification process. We strive to use a

"core carrier base" system, whereby we primarily use carriers that we have a long term relationship with. This allows us to provide you, the customer, with dependable carriers that maintain a good reputation. With 30 years of experience and a carrier base in excess of 2500 qualified carriers, we can meet most demands of our customers.

To maintain this level of service it is also necessary to contract new trucking companies. In order to meet our standards each carrier is carefully reviewed and must meet the following requirements.

* Must have current Contract Authority, confirmed by the FMCSA

*Must have a current safety rating of "Satisfactory", confirmed by CSA

*Minimum insurance coverage of $100,000 cargo and $1,000,000 liability coverage. Confirmed with a certificate of insurance from their insurance agent.

*Sign our carrier agreement that outlines how claims are to be handled, provides full replacement costs and name TRANS SERV as their agent for collection of freight charges.

TRANS SERV continues to monitor our carrier's safety rating and insurance coverage.

With each shipment...

Prior to loading we transmit a document to the carrier that outlines the requirements for your shipment. This includes all of the standard information, as well as any special instructions as needed.

We require that the driver directly contact our offices. This allows us to review the load requirements with the driver, confirm the driver’s current location, and make sure that he has the required equipment and directions to your facility.

Trans Serv will track your shipment from pickup to delivery. We will obtain a copy of the bill of lading with proof of delivery on each shipment, and retain this document for a minimum of three years.
